No solo le quita fluidez a la lectura si me permito decirlo, el uso de cursiva, aunque gramaticalmente correcto, derrota el punto de incorporar el lenguaje popular a la voz narrativa , sino que muy posiblemente sea una barrera de entrada para lectores urbanos, por no decir extranjeros. Ahora bien, eso no significa que no haya nada valioso en su obra.
