As a professional home theatre installer I have seen all types of tvs and projectors and after installing this unit for one of my recent clients I have to say that if you are on a budget and want excellent quality then this is the best unit within the dollar price range even rivaling projectors costing hundreds more.
Right out of the box color settings blow away other units as well. The fan noise level is very low even on the brightest setting and has mulitple inputs for all types of applications. I bought the Sanyo Z5, 30 days ago. Plugged it up to the an HD cable box, new Onkyo sr, Mirage speakers in a 7. Running the speaker wire took longer than the setup of the total system. Great picture in and p. The projector is super quiet, easy to adjust and provides a clean, awesome picture. Movies and sports are a joy to watch. I've had a sony lcd for about 8 years and made the switch to HD with this Sanyo It's the brightest and clearest picture I've ever seen and the contrast is astounding!
The fan is almost undetectable and extremely quiet. I can't believe the value of this projector. Why do people insist on being ignorant and buying plasmas when something like this gives you an easy " theatre screen in a normal sized living room?
Gorgeous picture and smootheness. I have the image projected onto a screenGoo surface highly recommend that as well. I'm watching Transformers for the 3rd time as I type this and the action contrast is amazing. Not a big deal but it's really big; however its size probably helps it stay so amazingly quiet with lots of room for the fan in the back.
After several years dabbling in the hobby of 'Home Theater'I was finally able to financially take the plunge with a High Def projector. I have used a 52" Hitachi HD RPTV for the last 2 years as the center of my system and enjoyed its astounding clarity and picture but was needing the BIG picture to get that real home cinema 'feel'. I researched online for several months trying to decide on which projector to get, and settled on two to choose from.
