You have probably brought out another valid point: you are as persistent as myself -- don't ever give up that quality. Though I did not discuss warranty issues with Gateway, I am sure that they can do what ever they need to do to honor their warranty -- incuding working with Microsoft to make exceptions.
I will say this for Gateway; they certainly have always helped me with any issue I bring to them. And I have never had to stand in line too awfully long to get assistance. I have also edited my last reply to mention warranty. Hey voilt: digging for the truth makes a lot of people nervous -- including me. It makes this forum truly unique.
